Hard to type with dried glue on your fingertips…
Ursula & Tom’s wedding is Saturday!!!¬† I took a few photos of their gift baskets before they took them to the hotels for their guests to enjoy.¬† Freelance graphic designer Ariel Rutland designed this wedding suite.¬† The gift basket tags, chocolate wrappers and honey jar labels perfectly match the garden themed wedding.¬† I will be posting photos of the wedding next week…so check back.
Included in the gift baskets are screenprinted journals that Ursula commissioned a local artist to make.¬† Each journal cover illustrated the story of Ursula & Tom’s courtship in front of the monuments in DC.¬† They turned out beautifully.¬† The significance to the couple makes them really special. ¬† And now the favors! I have to say that I love LOOOOoooooOOOOOO0000000VE these.¬† Sweet, simple jars filled with local honey Ursula procured from the Old Town Farmer’s Market.¬†¬† The honey sticks will serve as placecards for the 12 wedding guests at the farm.¬† The names were applied with rub ons from the Paper Source.¬† Since I moonlight at the Paper Source in Old Town as a part-time sales associate and Ursula is a personal friend I was happy to contribute a few details like this.¬† Rub ons are an easy way to add text without messing with printers or sloppy handwriting.¬† And finally, the napkin rings I made out of a paper towel roll and scrap paper.¬† I used the pattern with which Ursula lined her invitation envelopes to tie it all together.¬† I started this project 9 this a.m. and was done in less than hour.¬† Although to be honest, I stopped to make coffee and then again to photograph my progress.¬† It’s super easy, super cheap and super eco-friendly.¬† And kids could do this for a holiday table.I’ve said it before, but I’m really excited to photograph Ursula’s wedding.¬† I can’t wait until Saturday.
